Executive Team

Our executive team has decades of collective experience which we leverage to help our clients plan their projects. During the pre-construction phase, we share this experience with the project design and development teams to help produce the most efficient and cost-effective building designs for the targeted markets. We also utilize our strong relationships with the subcontracting community to provide cost and design input at appropriate stages of design development to help guide key decisions. We value our history and relationships with local regulatory and governmental agencies as we move our projects through entitlement, permitting, and construction.

President

Matt Cheesebro

Matt Cheesebro brings a diversified background in finance and engineering to Wilshire Construction. Matt most recently worked at Moelis & Company, a global investment bank providing strategic advisory services to public and private clients, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions in a variety of industries. Previously, Matt worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation in the Aerospace Systems sector as an operations project manager and a lead product engineer. He holds a B.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, an M.S.E. in Product Development Engineering from the University of Southern California, and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Chief Operations Officer

Randy Grosskopf

Randy has extensive experience leading successful offices and in the construction of high rise, mixed use/multi-family, institutional, education (DSA), healthcare (OSHPD), parking garages, industrial and civil projects.

With undergraduate studies in the field of Physics at CSUN, he is a licensed general contractor, a DBIA Design Build Professional and well respected amongst his peers. Previous executive positions include Principal/Sr. Vice President of Lend Lease (US) Construction Southern California Division where he exceeded expectations by securing contracts in excess of $1.4 billion including the Oceanwide Plaza, CIRCA, TEN50 and 1077 Wilshire projects, “through Randy’s vision and leadership we captured more work than the previous combined 26 years in Southern California;” As founder and Director of PENTA Group’s Los Angeles office, he pierced the DSA and OSHPD markets through successful implementation of projects at UCLA, LAUSD and USC; as Project Executive/Sr. Project Manager for Bernards Builders, he provided key leadership in the construction of the Americana at Brand, LAUSD Panorama City High School and first phase of the Senior Sunrise Living Torrance project. Other notable projects in his career include the Disney ABC Office Building, UCLA Ackerman Union Seismic Life Safety Retrofit and Expansion, UCLA Kerckhoff Hall Base Isolation project, Rio Vista Water Treatment Plant, Rio Vista Water Treatment Plant Pump Station, CSUN Central Plant and Distribution project, CBS Studio Parking Structure, AMGEN Building 42 and Building 30.

As COO of Wilshire Construction LP, Randy oversees day to day operation of all aspects of the business.
Director of Accounting

Abby Blum

Abby graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2002. After relocating to Los Angeles, she began work as an Accountant with Compel. In 2007, she moved to Webcor Builders as the Project Accountant for the $590M LA Live! Hotel and Residences. Following completion of that project, she managed Webcor’s Southern California accounting for a variety of private and public projects, including the Silver Lake Reservoir Replacement. Abby was recruited byTurner Construction in 2013 as Senior Accountant on the Los Angeles International Airport projects. She joined Wilshire Construction as Director of Accounting in 2014.
